Warp records started out roughly 13 years ago in a little independant music shop on Sheffields Division Street, I remember it fondly, cramped, messy with vynles stroon around the floor in piles. The shop closed soon after the label hit the big time by signing the aphex twin; who of course is a genius and now a world wide known nutcase.

The shop closed soon after the label hit the big time by signing the aphex twin; who of course is a genius and now a world wide known nutcase.
My favorite Warp artists are Plaid, Autechre, The Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Richard Devine, Boards of Canada and Broadcast. They are all absoutely magnificent, i know of no other label with such a consitantly good line up of artists, which must be why i love them so much. Oh, and that they originated in my home town. Warp recently toured their artists in the form of the Magic Bus Tour. I managed to catch it at the sheffield ski villege and they were all awesome, especially plaid and richard devine.
